Todd Conover graduated with a degree in fashion design from The College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University. He began his career as a fashion designer starting his own fashion business together with designer Jeffrey Mayer and for 15 years ConoverMayer sold nationwide to stores and boutiques including Bergdorf Goodman, Barney’s, Nieman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Todd is an Assistant Professor of Design in The College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University, a position which he has held since 1995. His teaching specialty is digital fashion illustration and presentation using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Illustration, graphics and fine art have always been a part of Todd’s visual vocabulary. He likes to work in a variety of traditional mediums in conjunction with digital technology. Todd says: “My work tends to focus on fashion, style, and the evolution of emotion towards form, color, pattern, and line. The means and conditions of making my art have changed radically through the evolution of digital technologies. It was an easy intuitive fit to include computer software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator into my tool kit. These exceptionally powerful software programs enable visual communication otherwise unattainable by any other medium.”
